Kelsey and Chris are the couple for whom the timing just clicked, and they knew they were meant to be together. After years of friendship, they were ready to date and jumped all in. Both come from close-knit families, and I wish you all could have been at their beautiful wedding. Love and joy are the two words that pop to mind when I try to describe the day. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
|Kelsey, her mother, and future mother-in-law had crafted a beautiful plan, and it was delightful getting to know them over the 6 months leading up to the wedding. I stepped in for the weekend to execute their plan and manage the logistics of the celebration. |
A true perk for me was bringing the ceremony site to life. Kelsey loved the view of the Appalachian Mountains in the distance, and truly wanted to take her vows with those mountains in sight. Working with her family, we created a ceremony site at the best angle for her to have her wish. It makes my day when I can work with a couple and their families to make their vision a reality.
Kelsey and Chris opted to see each other for the first time when she was walking down the aisle. The excitement at that moment was palpable beyond just the looks on their faces.
Some highlights from the day include the Father-Daughter First Look: Johnny loves his daughters, and he was one of the proudest daddies I’ve seen on a wedding day. In fact, my eyes are misty typing, just remembering.
Another special highlight was the venue: The family home made for the most natural and welcoming wedding experience. There were so many heirloom touches, like the curio cabinet for the cupcakes. The barn where Kelsey played growing up, and where so many family cookouts and parties were had, made it a natural choice for her wedding reception.
The sweetest highlight, though, was being with the families: These two families were just easy like Sunday mornin’. It’s always a treasure to work with families like Kelsey’s and Chris’s. They celebrated their respective families bing united in marriage with a beautiful ceremony, in which both sides planted a flower, culminating with the new couple planting a unity flower in the center. So many analogies and life lessons were represented during this moment.
Overall, it was a joy-filled day, one I was so honored to be part of. Wishing the best for Kelsey and Chris in their life together!
